The Valley, Anguilla — On 30 June 2023, the Anguilla Renewable Energy Programme (AREP) launched the Anguilla Energy Transition Public Engagement Survey. This six-minute survey features questions on the link between energy and climate change, energy sources, energy usage practices and Anguilla’s energy sector. The Public Engagement Survey is accessible online to residents of Anguilla via bit.ly/AETSurveyPD23 until 11 August 2023.
Using the results from the Public Engagement Survey, AREP will first identify the range of attitudes concerning renewable energy, personal energy practices and the level of general knowledge about renewable energy in Anguilla. AREP will then develop relevant capacity-building initiatives and campaigns to fill the knowledge gaps and address the attitudes and practices identified.
Commenting on the Public Engagement Survey launch, Mr Travis Carty, AREP Project Coordinator stated, “We all have a part to play in achieving a more sustainable future for all. Increasing our knowledge and capacity is the first step towards streamlining Anguilla’s transition to renewable energy and achieving energy efficiency. We, therefore, encourage you, our residents, to complete the Anguilla Energy Transition Public Engagement Survey”.
